2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Coupe |
The Bitcoin saga continues…
After reporting the sale of a Tesla acquired using Bitcoins, we received a lot of calls from prospective buyers. We are happy to confirm a 2nd transaction of the same kind this week for a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Coupe. With the help of a 3rd party specializing in converting the 216.8 Bitcoins into US Dollars, we were able to complete the transaction within 72 hours. According to the media attention we've been receiving, this could be the start of something big.
We just sold our very first vehicle with Bitcoin as payment!
Bitcoin, a fully encrypted and fully digital currency, has been used by a recent client of ours to pay for a Tesla Model S Performance we had in our inventory. That's right, an electronic currency was used to purchase a fully electric vehicle.
In case you're wondering what Bitcoin is, Bitcoin is an open source person-to-person electronic tender that uses cryptography to secure transactions. Many failsafes are in place to prevent double-spending and are impossible to duplicate. Bitcoins have been around years but it wasn't until a year or two ago that they came into the public's eye.
Exchanges are the intermediary house that turns cash into Bitcoins and vice versa. They serve as a market maker that buys and sells Bitcoins to keep the flow constant. Like the stock market, prices for Bitcoins fluctuate just as you would see on a currency exchange stock chart. Below is the chart via Mt. Gox, a popular Bitcoin exchange house.

Lamborghini Newport Beach is proud to announce that we are fully capable of accepting Bitcoin as payment for vehicles. We are excited to be opening the door to this new currency.
Rome welcomes Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Final
20 November 2013, Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. After a thrilling year of racing from Shanghai to Monza, from Lime Rock to Macau, Rome’s Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi will welcome competitors from the four corners of the globe to contest the inaugural Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Final this weekend.
The World Final is witness to the growing international following for the Super Trofeo single make race format, which has gone from strength to strength following its origins in Europe in 2009. With the European series now regularly featuring in excess of 20 cars on the grid and the Asian series in its second season of growth and expansion, 2014 was notable for the establishment of the series in North America, which was welcomed by the US & Canadian racing communities and delivered compelling and competitive racing in its very first season.
With a truly global footprint, the World Final is the ideal event to draw the Lamborghini racing fraternity together in a festival of competition. The event spans Friday and Saturday, with over four hours of competitive track activity on the 4.085km clockwise Campagnano di Roma race circuit. After two 50 minute races, the first Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Champion will be crowned as part of the Andrea Mamé prize giving ceremony.
The racing will be covered live in a well-established Lamborghini tradition, streamed live on the internet with full English language commentary at http://squadracorse.lamborghini.com/en/live to supplement live transmission on Sky Italia channel 518 and recorded broadcasts on Eurosport on Tuesday November 16 at 2200hrs, repeated on Wednesday November at 0830hrs on Eurosport 2.
For race fans, public access to the circuit on Saturday for spectating will be free.
Squadra Corse in evidence
Reflecting the Squadra Corse philosophy, which instructs drivers in Lamborghini road cars and progressively enables motorists to become racers on a pathway that concludes with GT3, the World Final at Vallelunga will feature a series of taxi laps with the Italian supercar manufacturer’s most fabled creations – the Veneno & Sesto Elemento.
Alongside these two ultimate expressions of the Lamborghini philosophy will be a stable of Gallardos and Aventadors for a Lamborghini Academy on track experience for VIP’s including ‘Hot Laps’ from the Squadra Corse driving team.
Finally, after the racing and the demonstrations of Lamborghini’s most illustrious road cars, prize giving will give way to Lamborghini’s sumptuous hospitality and pitlane BBQ, delivering the best in Italian food and wine.
The President Reflects on 2013
Ahead of the Vallelunga World Final, Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini took time to reflect on the development of motorsport during the year. “In 2013, we have taken some ambitious steps along the path towards a greater commitment to motorsport. First of all, we established Squadra Corse with its clear philosophy and intent to provide a pathway from the street to the track. In Misano, we introduced our very first night race, which was a huge success. And we launched a new series in North America, which was embraced wholeheartedly by the racing community. So the World Final is a fitting way to bring all of this achievement together and unite the Lamborghini racing family in a spectacular end of year event."

Lamborghini Veneno Roadster -- a collector’s Masterpiece of Engineering and Design

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 18.10.2013 -- As a further highlight of its 50th anniversary year, Automobili Lamborghini is presenting one of the most exceptional super sports cars of all time. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is an open racing prototype with an extreme design and breathtaking performance. And it is one of the world’s most exclusive automobiles -- not more than nine units will be built during the course of 2014 and sold at a price of 3.3 million Euros (excl. tax).
The Veneno Roadster is extreme and guarantees an intense driving experience -- because open means truly open. There is no roof, just a strong rollover bar for optimum safety. The design is focused on optimum aerodynamics and stability through fast corners -- with handling akin to that of a racing prototype. Yet it is fully road legal.
With a maximum output of 552 kW / 750 hp, the Veneno Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and top speed stands at 355 km/h. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is driven by a twelve-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6.5 liters and is equipped with the extremely fast-shifting ISR transmission with five modes, permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units.
The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster brings the aerodynamic efficiency of a racing prototype to the road. Every detail of its form pursues a clear function -- exceptional dynamics, optimum downforce with minimal drag and perfect cooling of the high-performance engine. Therfore the Veneno Roadster is unmistakably a Lamborghini; it sticks firmly to the consistent design philosophy of all the super sports cars from Sant’Agata Bolognese. That includes the extreme proportions, as well as the powerfully arrow-shaped front end and the interplay between razor-sharp lines and precise surfaces.
The design of the exclusive alloy wheels is also determined by aerodynamic functionality -- a carbon-fiber ring around the wheel rim works like a turbine to deliver additional cooling air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs. The intense paint color ‘‘Rosso Veneno’’ was developed exclusively for the Veneno Roadster, although each single customer will be able to individualize his own vehicle to suit his personal preferences.
The Veneno Roadster is further proof of Automobili Lamborghini’s unique competence in CFRP-based lightweight design. A monocoque made from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer forms the basis of the Roadster. All exterior parts are made from CFRP. The Veneno Roadster meets all safety and registration requirements worldwide, and naturally also incorporates a full complement of safety systems from airbags through to the adapted ESP handling system.
Carbon fiber dominates also the interior of the Veneno Roadster. The carbon fiber monocoque is visible inside the car around the central tunnel and the sills. The two lightweight bucket seats are made from Lamborghini’s patented Forged Composite. The woven carbon-fiber CarbonSkin is used to clad the entire cockpit, part of the seats and the headliner. Like a hi-tech fabric, this extremely fine-looking carbon-fiber matting fits perfectly to any form and reduces the weight of the vehicle.
The systematic, carbon-fiber, lightweight design of the Veneno Roadster is not only visible, it is also evident on the scales: with a dry weight of just 1,490 kilograms (3,278 pounds), the Veneno Roadster benefits from a power- to-weight ratio of just 1.99 kg/hp (4.38 lbs/hp) which guarantees a performance that is nothing short of mind-blowing. Even the stunning acceleration figure of 2.9 seconds cannot adequately describe it. Despite an aerodynamic setup configured for extreme downforce, the Veneno Roadster possesses exceptionally low wind resistance which allows it to reach a top speed of 355 km/h (221 mph).

The VIP 700 Club - September 2013
Extreme. Uncompromising. Italian. These words describe the aim Automobili Lamborghini set out when they began to build their latest V12 flagship model, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. A 6.5L V12 producing 700HP is a serious threat to 99.99% of the cars out on the road. It takes a special person to pull the purchasing trigger to Lamborghini's latest beast. We here at Lamborghini Newport Beach wanted to show our appreciation to those that braved the purchase with us or have had their Aventador serviced with us. We know and understand the trust a client of ours must have with us, and for that trust, we thank them whole-heartedly. What better way to thank a group of clients than to invite them to a private dinner at the nations #1 resort, The Resort at Pelican Hill.
These Aventadors, while looking fast just standing still, love to be driven. It's not about the looks, not the performance numbers, or even sound the V12 sings, but it's about the experience the Aventador provides when the looks, performance, and sound mesh together seemlessly. Multiply that by 20 and you get one wild lineup of V12 monsters. Thankfully, our parking lot can hold that many winged beasts as they began to fill it at around 5:00PM Saturday the 28th of September.
From a few hundred feet away, the 6.5L V12 can be heard as it rushes towards our lot. At around 5:30PM, all in attendance are accounted for.
Just before we set sail on the open California highway, we snap a quick photos of everyone who has bravely set foot in Lamborghini's latest creation. 20 Aventadors in one parking lot producing together 14,000HP are all singing the same song as they sit, idling, ready to pounce at the sight of a clear road exiting our parking lot.

At last, 20 angry Aventadors are taking over the 405 freeway as we head south to a connecting freeway. Even before the freeway on the streets, cameras, phones, whatever could take a pic… did. Even our clients who own these had theirs out snapping away as the presence of 20 Lamborghini Aventadors awakes all 5 senses.
Despite our best efforts to keep the pack of 20 together, the strength of California traffic was a little much thanks to the stoplights and other cars on the road. The V12's behind the drivers opening up on the freeway produced symphonic melodies that definitely helped keep the large group somewhat together. The group tightened back up again once we hit the offramp and began heading into Laguna. Once again, cameras and phones sprouted from every car window.
Pacific Coast Highway is notorious for being the road of choice for exotic owners to enjoy their prized vehicles. The Saturday of September 28th was no exception as our large group of Lamborghini's woke up all the shops and passerby's with an army of V12's. As we made our way up the coast, the sun was just on it's way down which provided a very cinematic look with the ocean off to our left.It seemed that the drive up PCH was short-lived as we made our last right turn of the drive and headed up to the resort from PCH. Aventador after Aventador after Aventador with almost all a different color than the one before.
At last, we arrive in full force flooding the valet turn-about with a sea of Lamborghinis. The V12's get their chance to rest from the drive while the passengers absorb their chance to recover from the savage-shifts of Lamborghini's single-clutch drivetrain system. As the valets situated the cars lining the area with Aventadors, everyone was quick to mingle and share their experiences so far. A great time to debrief before the cars were all lined up ready for photos.
Our arrival time couldn't have been any more perfectly timed as we were greeted to this beautiful view overlooking the golf course and sun setting on the Pacific Ocean. A quick moment to absorb the view and our guests made their way to our private location where cocktails and bistro-style gourmet appetizers we ready for our large group.
With the sun on its way down, we gathered inside for a nice dinner filled with laughs and stories that only few in the world have experienced. As such, we intend to keep these experiences we have with our guests as lifelong friendships grow on the foundation of trust. And for entrusting Lamborghini Newport Beach with their Aventador experience, we'd like to take a moment and thank all our guests for attending our VIP 700 Club event. We truly appreciate everyone taking a Saturday evening out of their busy lives and joining us for a special celebration. We hope to have more just like this.
